The Mustangs of Las Colinas
Arts, Culture & History
Irving
After the Spanish introduced wild mustangs to Texas in 1542, vast herds of the beautiful animals rode across the prairies until the mid-19th century. In Las Colinas’ William Square, this history is commemorated in a breathtakingly realistic bronze sculpture of nine horses galloping across a shallow stream. Spectators impressed by the larger-than-life depiction can learn more about renowned African wildlife sculptor Robert Glen in the adjacent free museum.
